PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE!

We just got back from a fabulous family reunion in Wisconsin! I'm kicking myself that I didn't take thousands (or even any) pictures to post here. The kicking became even harder when I thought about how nice it would be to have our own family blog--kind of a central location for everyone to get into with announcements, updates, photos, etc to keep us better connected.

So cast your vote on the sidebar here--sorry I didn't put an option there for you to kick me, too. If there's enough interest I'll wrangle Greg and John to see if they can work some photos in for me.

Memo to: Her Excellency-Best-Sister-In-Law-in-the-World (and anyone else): I won't be able to post a blog next week because I'll be at the writers conference in PA. Please pray for safe travel and that I learn what I need to learn. But DON'T be yelling "When's she going to blog something?" And, Tammy, thank you for leaving a comment and having a nice little talk with Aaron. He is a good kid.

Our family reunion was held at the house I grew up in. It's now a Bed & Breakfast! Their website is www.willowpondevents.com if you're interested. One of my favorite times was sitting on the front porch on a perfect summer morning having a delicious breakfast and good conversation with Gwen, Patti, and Auntie Betty. I also enjoyed cheering my head off and blatantly cheating in the "Going to Grandma's" relay. And the boat races, the slide show, the duck races, the food, the food, the food, and many other moments that I didn't cheat, like Anjee's puzzle contest in which Kristin and I took 2nd place, only like 3 seconds behind Brianna and Valerie, I'm not bitter.

Enough of the run on sentences. Thanks for checking my blog. Check back in a day or two to see how the vote is coming along. Have a great week!

I am so glad you had a great trip. We were praying for you. I am impressed that the computer dinosaur has a place to vote for this family blog! You are getting very computer savvy!

what a great idea...(good thinking)i will pass your email along to Melanie and Kathy and Auntie Millie(they'll really be interested) because i have their email addresses.

p.s. don't kick yourself even though it was meant to be understood.(i read a short book on kindness and it says you must be kind to yourself first)(like i remember that either). practice breaks a bad habit. (weird thought: habits are the old term for hats. some people like to think we wear "hats" on our heads like different roles in our lives. i personally think wearing hats for different roles is confusing and frustrating and that is never good. hows that for some food for thought?

Ferree: Thanks for rallying the troops and keeping the momentum going from the Marecek family reunion, before we forget everyone's name again. Photos help prevent memory loss, and to that end, I have published a set of photos from my Dad (Unca Ed), Greg and me on a web site at http://picasaweb.google.com/Broschka/MarecekReunion Have all of your readers check it out before they get too old! I have shared your bedtime story of "Joey Delicious & The Jaws of Death" with my son, Jonathan, multiple times this week. He loves it. We breath a sigh of relief every time for the happy ending! -John

Can your relatives from Chicago, Cook County, and the State of Illinois vote more than once in your opinion poll? We would just be trying to live up to the reputation of insider knowledge, big shoulders, and dirty politics.

My sports prediction: The Cubs beat the Brewers for top spot in the National League Central Division and make a run at a World Series title, and the fans in Chicago will be so wildly excited that they won't care when Bret Favre and the Packers embarrass the Bears with a lop-sided defeat on home turf at Soldier Field in a nationally televised game (a repeat of last season).
Check out John's website mentioned above for all the photos your little heart desires! It's great!
John, now you've got to read "How the Big Ugly Monsters Got Big Sharp Teeth"--another of my tales--only this one doesn't contain any relatives. (Now that I think of it,I could easily revise it to family history--ha ha ha-- Big Sharp Teeth. . . Jaws of Death . . . monsters . . .family. . . hmmmm :)
As for the corrupt Chicago branch of the family--bring it on! We're taking bets on the vote, votes are for sale if you know the secret password.
