(2006 statistic, page 25) Meanwhile, 20 drug company CEO's get over $1 million in compensation. Bristo-Myers Squibbs CEO got over $8 million , Eli Lilly & Co. over $11 million , Abbott Labs, over $11 million , and the head of Pfizer got over $16 million . (2005 statistics, page 190)  And then look into drug patents. Drug companies do all they can--and hire lawyers to do all they can--to extend drug patents so their top-selling prescription drugs (including AIDS drugs, but also Lipitor, Celebrex, Zoloft) can continue to put the over $1 billion  in sales into their own pockets year after year. I bought the blue package a while ago at Sam's Club. I bought the pink package last week. I finally got around to putting the pink pak away ---and found the blue pak. Both packages claim "9 DOUBLE ROLLS=18 REGULAR ROLLS." I don't have my receipts, but I'm guessing the pink pak cost MORE than the blue pak. Good bye Quilted Northern Soft & Strong, Hello scratchy cheap stuff! This ticks me off! I refuse to flush more money down the toilet! Are the politicians running the toilet paper companies, too?

This picture speaks to me--it says it all. Just look at the expression on this dog's face--"This is reality, human--deal with it!" My neice took this picture in July when we were on our way to Caesar Creek to look for fossils. It's not some photo trick off the internet. If it raises alarming questions for you such as "What road were you on?" "How fast is he going?" "Who put him behind the wheel?" Well, you'll just have to wonder. Personally, I call the dog "Pelosi." WRITING UPDATE: I hope to get back on track this week. Writing day: Friday. I've lapsed for 2 weeks with getting a new desk, and taking Brad for college registration last week.
