Hardy Hotel Back in Business

Our guest room gets a "no vacancy" sign for the next few days, and then again next weekend. Tomorrow Brooke & Chris arrive and stay until Wednesday. Then Mom & Dad Hardy arrive on Friday and stay through the following Wednesday--April 9. On April 9 I leave for a long weekend in Seattle. My parents are taking a train trip there, so I will visit with them and Brad, Lisa and Joe at the same time. That is the same week Aaron goes "on tour" with his school music group. They're going to be ministering at a place or two in Indiana. Tom will hold down the fort all by himself. Fudd volunteered to do it, but we saw through that right away. Fudd just wanted to eat all Trixie's canned cat food. He's so sly. Sooo . . . next time I plan to blog is after we pay our taxes. Until then, thanks for checking in on me! WRITING UPDATE: I'm almost getting a routine and rythmn to my life and spend most Thursdays glued to the computer. I force myself to attempt a cha...

Fritzy Week

testing, testing, testing. . . 1,2,3 . . . hellooooo . . . anybody out there? . . . What do you know, I haven't gotten the "error" message--nope, I take that back. Oooh! I got around it. So the "Fritzy Week" title isn't for a new cat (I did NOT get another cat--but Fritz would be a good name if I did), it's for how fritzy it's been trying to blog this week. If only Ohio weren't flooding, life would be pretty quiet and pleasant. I'm enjoying it. Went to a pajama party on Friday night. (No pictures or they'd kill me). Got an invitation for dinner on Saturday. Still reading all three books. Worked at the library a couple days last week. Haven't had a chance yet this week. Tomorrow is a writing day. WRITING UPDATE: I attended my writers group last Thursday and got some good help on the premise for my proposal. I heard from the writer's conference scholarship people, and guess what? I didn't win. But I'm ok with that, I'm e...

Soup's On

Dayton registered a "Blizzard Warning" on Saturday. Level 3 Snow Emergency. In otherwords, it was a great day to stay home and make soup. I made my potato soup, one of our favorites: lots of sauteed onion and celery, chunky potatoes, a hint of garlic, bay leaf, and bouillon. Perfect blizzard comfort. Soup's on in my soul, too. I'm reading three books at once: THROUGH PAINTED DESERTS by Donald Miller. I question his theology and drool over his writing style at the same time. THE RELENTLESS GOD by Cecil Murphey. A peek at the honest questioning of a gracious and sincere Christian man. A SHORT METHOD OF PRAYER & Other Writings by Madame Guyon. A French Catholic who spent time in the Bastille for studying the scripture on her own, teaching people to pray and "smelling like a Protestant," while Mary Ferree was fleeing France for being a prostestant. I wonder if they ever met or knew of each other. It's a very victorian edition, makes me grateful for growi...

Wonderful Husbands Weekend

Image
Yes, wonderful husbands. My sister Anjee's wonderful husband kept the kids while she drove down here to spend the weekend with me and use the gift certificate for manicures and facials at the Spa-La-La which my wonderful husband gave me for Christmas. Spa-La-La--isn't that an awful name? No wonder, I just made it up. The place we went to was very, very nice and relaxing--the real name is "Belazzio's." Classy. Offered us wine and everything--but we preferred the Milky Way Lattes. Come back, Anjee! I miss you already. It's just me and Trixie in this house full of males. Oh, and Anjee, just about everyone at church was sick like I was right before you arrived, so I probably was/am contagious. Sorry. WRITING UPDATE: I put a 40-page book proposal in the mail this week to an editing service. See, I am making progress. Keep praying, and thanks for checking in on me.
