3 Cool Websites & What's up
Tom starts his new position today as manager of the electrical maintenance shop. It's a position he's held before and enjoyed, so he's looking forward to it.
Lisa called last week with the exciting news that she is now in the management training program and the company has created a unique position for her that will highlight her personal shopping skills, customer service/pampering, and lifestyle event planning. Who wouldn't love that? Her store website: www.anthropologie.com
Me? I dabble. Little bit of this, little bit of that. At the moment the additional things going on, besides two part time jobs and a book--we've got some 11th grade boys coming here every Sunday night for their "house church." Their leaders arrive by 6, we put out snacks in the kitchen, everyone else arrives, they all disappear down to the rec room, and then Aaron wanders up after 8. We enjoy opening our house up for this, and I'm happy that the house gets a once over with the vacuum on Sunday afternoon by someone else besides me.
Another thing I'm up to is attending a Grief Share group on Sunday afternoons. Check it out at www.griefshare.com My reason for going was to further educate myself about grief and it has more than delivered. I am about midway through the 13 week course. It consists of a video and discussion and I must say the video is excellent. I can highly recommend it and the workbook. If you look at the website you'll find many Christian leaders you recognize. There is a workbook as well and it clearly promotes salvation through faith in Christ alone as the foundation for healing. On the website you can type in your zipcode to find locations near you.
Speaking of websites, check out www.bookcrossing.com This one encourages you to "catch and release" books. The idea is that you take a good book that's just been collecting dust on your bookshelf, register it on their website so it can be tracked (print their little website in your book), and then you "release" it by leaving it in a public area for someone to pick up. Hopefully whoever picks it up will log in that it's been "Caught." Take a look. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it will intrigue you as much as it does me.
Well, that's about it for this week. A belated "Happy Birthday" to my friend Sandy in Wisconsin and another Happy BDay to Brooklyn my neice this coming Thursday.
Thanks for checking in on me.
