Ahh, FINALLY! . . .
. . . OUR CHRISTMAS TREE IS DOWN AND PUT AWAY! Tom and Aaron stuffed it up the hole in my closet ceiling--picture the Grinch stuffing the Christmas tree up the fireplace chimney--same idea.
But I'll bet you thought I wrote "Ahh, FINALLY" about how long it's been since I blogged, didn't you?
Well, that, too.
But I'm back. Question is, where do I begin?
For a couple reasons, I won't recap our Christmas.
How about I just give a quick update on "the book" and some other ideas?
Here we go:
WRITING UPDATE: It has finally occurred to me that I work at the library only 4 days a week. The days are different every other week, and that's kind of confusing, but all in all, each week it's only 4 days. So I took a pen to the big calendar in our kitchen, and blocked off one entire day each week from now through April with the command--"WRITE!'
This past Tuesday I even obeyed the calendar and knocked off chapter 16. My next writing day is Thursday and the assignment is chapter 17. Since I've only planned about 22 chapters, this is great! Just keep in mind that these are rough drafts and hardly presentable to the public, but I'm excited to see the end in sight.
I don't know what will happen after that. Re-writing, of course. But I need to get some publishing contacts--and there are various (costly) ways to do that. I also need to present publishers with a real audience--I'm considering a blog or website for widows.
Would you please pray about those things for me?
Let me know your thoughts about a blog or website for widows. Just add a comment here. All comments go to my email before they get published so if you panic after you've typed it you can call me and tell me not to publish it. (If you call on a day when the calendar yells "WRITE!" at me though, you'll have to leave a message. I'm not allowed phone calls that day. That calendar is such a slave driver!)
Here's something fun. Go to www.goodreads.com
Sign up. It's free and safe. Then you can search for me and see my review of the latest book I've read. Hey, I work at a library. It's what I do.
Plus I'm watching more DVD's now, too. "Horton Hears A Who" is really cute, George Clooney in "Leatherheads" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou" was a big hit at our house; "Eagle Eye," "Ironman" and "Vantage Point" were high suspense without too much gore or pervasive language. "The Bucket List" was a pleasure with values, "P.S. I Love You" was an emotional ambush--exactly what it's like to be widowed. I cried through the whole thing. But most of you have seen these already, they've been out awhile. Top of my to-see list for new DVD's is "Igor." :) Send me a list of your favorites!
Thanks for checking in on me. It's good to be back!

Nice to have you back! I think a blog or website for widows is a GREAT idea! Go for it! Our pastor Sunday just told us a little bit about "The Bucket List" sounds good and I'm sure P.S. I love you was a real tear jerker for you.
