What A Day May Hold

You just never know what a day might hold, but I'm thankful I know Who holds my days!

My mom called early this morning to say that my nephew, Caden, was at a Milwaukee burn center!
What??!! That's what I said!
And then I got on Facebook as the fastest way to get people praying!
Here's the note I sent out:
Please pray for my highschool age nephew Caden. He's 100 miles from home at a Milwaukee burn center with 2nd & 3rd degree burns to his face from an accident last night. Thanks!
Over a dozen people responded and passed it on to their praying friends.
Before I left for work at noon I got this email from my sister-in-law, Caden's mom, Tammy:
Ferree, Prayers sure are working. Caden is in no pain. He got up and walked around. He is now sitting in the chair watching Joyce Meyer. He wanted to watch a "religious channel". He is in great spirits. We are just waiting for them to get him into the O.R. so they can clean up his face and ear and see what they have to do. Thanks for all of your prayers!
On my supper break I had this email from my mom:
Steve phoned on his break and said the doctors determined none of the burns were 3rd degree, but 2nd, and he was still waiting to go into surgery where they would remove burned tissue and apply dressings to promote healing. So, that was good news.
After getting a phone number from Anjee, I called thinking I would speak to Tammy and was surprised to find myself talking to Caden. He sounded wonderful to me. Obviously the cold water and ice applications right away helped a lot The burns were on the right side of his face (slight on his lips and nose) so seeing, breathing and eating or talking were not affected. So, Praise the Lord!!!
Now I'm home from work. No new news--so I'm counting on that as good news. And thanking God for His watchcare and His people.
Thanks so much for praying today, and if you're disappointed that you might not have gotten the news until now, please join in. I'm sure Caden will still need our prayers. His burns went up his right side, up from the shoulder to neck, ear and face.
Thanks for checking in on me!

Update: Please keep praying. Basically Caden lost the top layer of his skin and is swollen and red. Cleaning it is painful but we have to do this 4 times per day and keep ointment on it. His right eye is swollen (almost shut). Opthamology will see him today. Today he is having trouble accepting what he looks like and thinks he will look like a freak forever. Prayers would be appreciated for his thoughts. Joyce Meyer was talking about that yesterday. Not a coincidence! How you can set your mind on something good or bad and that's what you become or that's what you make happen. Thanks for all of your prayers and please please keep praying for Caden.
