This is Dad Hardy, at home in Ticonderoga, NY. I know you'll be awed by my special effects! I call this "A Coke & Mentos Moment." It's very special, it'll probably take over the Oscars tonite. WRITING UPDATE: I'm still brushing up the proposal. Hope to get it in the mail by the end of this week, before my sister Anjee comes for our "spa" day. I mailed in my entry for a scholarship to the Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference. Pray that I win! They'll notify winners by end of March. That's all for this week. No photos of Trixie this time, but I must tell you, her little shenanigans last week--hey, I didn't know cats could blog, did you? Anyway, her little posting back-fired on her---or maybe this is what she intended: her pictures were up on the Big Screen at Eagleville Bible Church last week, and she was used as a sermon illustration about what happens when the world makes you look like something you're not. (Personally, I think Pastor Bill was really reaching on that and just wanted to poke fun at Trixie's expense.) Anyway, here's what some of you had to say about it--I don't understand why it sounds like I'm to blame. I tell you, the cat can blog! Patti said... oh am I glad you are not in charge of MY image! The Super Bowl part: Super Bowl party at our house: Too bad you can't see all the bodies below--obviously missing are Aaron and Lauren, slouched down behind the sofa. Tom is upstairs at the moment of the shot. And the women on the right here, they just know better than to elbow in during a Super Bowl game. Me? I'm behind the camera. Most of our crew were pleased with the Giants winning. The commercials that got the most response were the Doritos-- where the overgrown mouse takes on the would-be trapper, and the Pepsi straw sucking Justin Timberlake through all sort of landscaping, mailboxes, and traffic. My personal favorite was the parade balloons battling for Coca-Cola, and Charlie Brown comes out of the blue to win. Yea, Charlie Brown! It's about time he got a break. & Beyond part: WRITING UPDATE: Scholarship contest entry is written and will go out this week. I also intend to enter a contest for a scholarship to a writers conference. Doesn't sound like much, but the week is loaded with annual doctor appointments and junk like that. It's a real let down from the past couple days I got to spend with Brad, Brooke and old friends in Novelty. (Hi everybody!) So back to being a responsible adult. (I'm sure I'll get over it). This is a picture of Brad trying to tell me how to take a picture. His face says it all--I need help. Check back next week.

Here real name is Trixie Attisano. She moved in with us in October when the Attisano's--Craig, Mimzie, Logan and baby Nathan moved to El Paso, TX because Craig was needed in the Army Reserve. They will only be there for 10 months. Trixie is 14 years old, which must be around 100 in cat years. I couldn't imagine how such an elderly cat would adjust to El Paso. I offered to keep Trixie and hardly got the words out of my mouth before Mimzie agreed and brought her and all her trappings over! Trixie's favorite place is here in the kitchen beside her empty food dish, waiting for a refill. She likes to keep everything on schedule--meaning any time I'm in the kitchen so is she. We sta...

I confess, this was fun. I drove 250 miles in the rain to do this--to clean out kitchen cabinets and get them organized. Go ahead, say it, I'm pathetic. If only I had a "before" picture so you could see what an intellectual challenge and stimulus this was! But the governing authority (Brooke) wouldn't give me a permit. Something to do with mysterious disappearance of my nifty new camera (see last week's post) and rearranging my face if I did. So I'll let your imaginations work their magic for a before picture.
