Wonderful WWWF Weekend

I had the privilege of joining a group of remarkable women who have all been friends since college for their Wild Women Wild Flower weekend, hosted by Cindy Steffen at her Prairie Pond Woods retreat house.
My photos don't do it justice--the colors are washed out and the flowers indistinct, but maybe some of you can enter into them. Cindy took us to "by permission only" nature preserves and we had absolutely perfect weather that the early flowers held on for, and the later blooming ones came a little early--it was a Peak of the peak season. Also, a brisk southerly wind blew in a variety of warblers and I got to see the most colorful all together: indigo buntings, bluebirds, a scarlet tanager, Baltimore oriole, and more. Most of them were right in Cindy's back yard.

There's a lot more to say--I could describe each photo in detail or tell you about the new friends, the good conversations, the 5 books each of us would want if stranded on a desert island, the yummy food, the R E L A X T I O N and S L O W I N G D O W N , but I'll just say I'd highly recommend your own WWWF weekend. Good stuff.
WRITING UPDATE: My writing day this week is Thursday. Many other things threaten to crowd it out and I will need to be very disciplined and intentional to guard it.
