My Collection

I don't collect normal stuff like dolls, baseball cards, figurines, stamps, antiques, etc. You might think I collect books, but nah, I accumulate books. Books just happen, willy nilly. Like cats, they find their way here.

I do still have my coin collection from 45 years ago; what's left from my little brother raiding it to spend on bubble gum, that is. And I've seriously considered collecting dust bunnies. I found some spectacular ones floating across the wood floor when I opened the windows to spring breezes the week before last. They're like overgrown snowflakes, all lacy and delicate, and each one with it's own unique pattern of cat hair, dust, pencil rubbings and atomic particles. But where would I showcase them? And how would I label them? How would I dust a dust bunny? I get worn out just thinking about it.

But I discovered I do collect something: I collect moments. I'm going to begin placing them here, simply labeled "My Collection." Enter the moment to my neighboring state, West Virginia. I've linked it for you right here: Dooley Noted: Montcoal Mine Explosion

What do you think of my collection so far?

Hi, Ferree! I don't know if you'll believe who this is but I was a Fish. :D I'm so thrilled I came across your blog...what a wonderful way to reconnect after what seems like centuries! I'm an avid blogger too! I look forward to "catching up" on your life via blogger.

Blessings!

So glad to hear back from you so quickly! I was reading your profile and I have to agree--my greatest fear is being widowed (even after just under 2 years of marriage.) I look forward to reading more as you minister to women in a way very few can. I still tear up when I recall the events of that fateful day. I don't think I had ever cried so hard. I knew how much of an impact Bruce had had on my dad's life--especially his spiritual one--and I was heartbroken for all those that godly man had left behind. (sorry...maybe I shouldn't be bringing this up...)

In any case, I found you in a roundabout way--I saw Brad's profile on Brooke's facebook (Brooke and I are fb friends). Then I saw some pictures with you tagged in them so I went to your profile. When I saw your blog address I was really excited because I'm a blog fanatic! :D

I will definitely be telling my parents I found you--and that you said hello. They get on the computer--rarely--to check up on my blog and my husband's blog, so I might have to add yours to list for them to read. :)
Hey Melanie, Thanks for sharing about Bruce. I'm the sort of person who wants to remember. For me, NOT remembering Bruce = being forgotten and insignificant and that = a far greater tragedy. So I really appreciated your comments and they brought back the many good ways God used him. Please feel free to read the widows blog now--before you need to :) --and I hope you never will need it. But if you do, you'll know that God sustained and strengthened many women and He'll prove faithful again and again. Also pass it along to your pastor to share with widows and anyone else. Widows are finding such comfort simply in knowing they're not alone when they get on it.
I can't tell you how adorable your blogs are and I'm really looking forward to keeping in touch. I hope people will click on your link 'cuz I know they'll love them, too. The recipes look fabulous! Blessings to you!
