Su Casa Es Mi Casa, they say

Carolina Wolf Spider
Lifesize photo.
Its 8 (yes, 8!) EYES
would bring a new
meaning to the old
Wisconsin activity of
deer shining.
Which I never did.
And don't intend to start.

Green Anole
There's one of these on the porch right now.
Uninvited.
sigh.
The spiders like the porch too.
A scream, a squish, it's over.
Lizards are different tho.
"Oh, Fud!"
I'll hold the door open while Fud
chases it out, I hope.

Oooh... just look at how cute that little Green Anole is!

Fud wants to know if he can keep him! He and Elmer want to play Lizard in the middle. :)

Don't forget now...while you're holding the door open for Fud to chase down a cute little lizard..the spiders are sneaking in. :)

Don't ya just love me? :)

And people wonder why I can't sleep at night???!!

Yes, those creatures are part of the south. Just a word of warning -- not to freak you out or anything ;D, there have been times (few and far between) that I have "squished" one of those spiders in my home and hundreds of TINY babies that you don't see on the back of the big spider go scampering about. Just start stomping your feet all over the place until you get most of them. Really, I have had to do that -- eeewwww! Now you will sleep even better! Sorry -- will you still be my friend :] ?

Beth! I'd read that they carry their egg sac around with them but I didn't realize the littles could come pouring off them! thanks for the heads up (or foot down!) Sharing our spider smashing experiences makes me feel even closer to you my friend!
