That Was Then, This Is Now
Last Sunday I was in Wisconsin to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. (That's her and dad in the picture on the left). I truly had a great visit, and I think they'd agree. I just hope they didn't catch my cold! I'm still dealing with it, hacking cough, congestion and all that goo.
On the right are a few of the great women in my family! Margo the Magnificent, (me), Tammy the Terrific, Mom the Wonder Woman and Auntie Jo the Energizer! This was last Sunday at Auntie Jo's where we had dinner and birthday cake. Would you believe my brother Steve grilled chicken for us all? He's a pretty good cook!
I headed back to Ohio last Monday and spent the night at my cousin, Gwen's, in Illinois. I was ragged from this cold, but Gwen took good care of me and tucked me in early. I took two doses of Nyquil and slept until 10 the next morning. The best part, though, was in my jammies, talking to Gwen, just like when were kids and spent weeks together in the summertime.
But that was then, this is now. Today, Monday Feb. 15 is the ten year anniversary of the day my life changed forever. When I realized it was also the exact day of the week--a Monday, plus the ten year mark--well, that just seemed like the right time to start my other blog. I'll still try to do this one once a week, but please take a look at the other one, too, and please refer others to it. Look! I even got a .com address for it! http://www.widowschristianplace.com/ Just click your "Back" arrow to get back to this blog.
WRITING UPDATE: Writing day this week should be Thursday or Friday. Please pray I get back on my feet from this cold, and pray that my folks don't get it. It's a monster. Also, please pray for me today. Sometimes this anniversary kind of knocks the wind out of me. Brad went up to Cleveland to visit the cemetary today, so pray for my kids, too. Thanks.
Thanks for checking in on me!

We/I sure had a nice time with you last weekend, Ferree. I'm soo glad you came up to the northwoods! How neat you had such a fun time with Gwen too! You and the kids were in my thoughts and prayers yesterday; a fitting day to start your widow's blog. You are going to help so many people! I hope that the people will easily pull up your blog when they search for help; I'm sure you have all those search engines covered knowing all that you know about computers. Happy Birthday today!!! Another year is nothing for you; You look and are as beautiful as always!
