Don't forget Groundhog Day!

This little fella reminds me of the one that grazed in our backyard at Riverview. We named him "Piggy." He had relatives building condos in a gully between the church and the park. They got checks from the Weather Channel every February. Piggy, however, enjoyed his place in our yard much better. Where else could he stand up and stare like this as our locked-indoors yellow labrador, Max, frantically spazzed out jumping and drooling and barking at him? It was better than watching cable tv with the groundhogs in the gully!

Well, Piggy eventually got nailed by our dog, Max; and then one day Max got nailed by a truck when he spotted another groundhog across the highway. I hear the truck driver still gets pay outs from the condo groundhogs . . .
