Fun Weekend!

Wow! What a weekend!
Friday and Saturday Mary and Cindy (house church girlfriends) and I went to a conference for over 90,000 women in 45 states and 8 different countries featuring a live simulcast of Bible teacher Beth Moore.
Meanwhile, Tom and some men from house church went camping and boating.
When I got back from the conferece I threw my swimsuit and sweats in a bag, threw a blanket and pillow in the Explorer and zipped off to the wild with Tom.
Best of the best: Saturday night Aaron and his friend John Miller showed up at our campsite just in time for supper. And then Chris Collins came back for more time at the campsite (he was one of the guys from house church), and he brought his wife, Ashley, and their friend, Matt. We took them all out for a moonlight boat ride. Wonderful!

The pictures are just proof i was there, behind the camera.
Other fun stuff: Both Tom's and my cell phones went dead. Funny how his doesn't take too well to puddles. Mine needs more minutes but their "site" is down and I'm not about to call the service provider again-- in another hemisphere-- and try to spell my name to them over and over! So i don't have a cell phone for a while and I will cherish every moment. :)
Next: I got sunburned! Yes, the little red glow at the library today will be my nose, not Rudolph's.
Next fun thing: Besides the rowdy idiots next to us, I discovered I can NOT sleep on the ground. It was so hard my bones felt like they were going to explode. So then I went to try to sleep in the Explorer. The lone man on the other side of us who was still staring at his campfire after midnight (or was he only trying to appear to be staring at the campfire, but really plotting my abduction and tortured death?) unnerved me a little so I locked the doors (I know, he could break the windows with his ax or chainsaw), and covered my head with the blanket. I had a wisp of dreamland but then started to freeze as the temps dropped to low 50's, which is great if you're in your own bed with pillows and blankets. Vinyl uphostered car seats and one blanket just didn't do it for me. But I'm ready to go again.
WRITING UPDATE: Busy week ahead. I'm signed up for a writers group on Wed morning and my desk arrived last week but we still have to put it together and move the computer. I don't know how I'll get time to actually write so the best thing to pray for this week would be efficiency!
On the family front, Brad arrives Friday, my father turns 80 on Labor Day, my sister-in-law-extraordinaire--Tammy turns _??_ on Labor Day, and Brad and Aaron start at the community college (without a car to get them there) on Wednesday. So welcome home, Brad; Happy Birthday Dad & Tammy! Good luck Brad and Aaron!
Thanks for checking in on me. Have a fun week.
